Problem Statement Essay
Does audit rotation at diverse levels (accomplice level versus firm level) in distinctive settings (compulsory versus intentional) connected with improved audit quality. Taking into account our audit of the writing, it is a long way from indisputable whether mandatory audit firm or audit partner rotation can enhance audit quality, nor is it clear whether deliberate audit firm or partner revolution can substitute for obligatory audit rotation. Mandatory rotation may upgrade audit quality focused around the suspicion that turn brings a crisp viewpoint. Not with standing, mandatory rotation may be less compelling if the recently turned reviewers need sufficient learning of the customer. The loss of customer particular learning could possibly impede the viability and nature of the review. Intentional turn practices can be powerful in keeping up audit quality if an audit company business sector and financial impetuses for creating or keeping up a great notoriety surpass its monetary inves tments from submitting to the requests of particular customers. Generally, it is hazy whether the obligatory rotation of auditors is a powerful answer for upgrade audit quality. The degree to which intentional and obligatory auditor turns at diverse levels can substitute for one another in keeping up audit quality is thusly an observational inquiry. The above discourse prompts the accompanying examination question. Audit rotation at diverse levels (accomplice level versus firm level) and in diverse settings (compulsory versus willful) connected with higher audit quality in less created locales than in decently created locales. There is a developing writing that analyzes how institutional components influence audit quality crosswise over nations (Francis et al., 2003; Khurana and Raman, 2004; Choi and Wong, 2007; Francis furthermore Wang, 2008). Establishments shift a ton crosswise over China (e.g., Wang et al., 2008), which gives us with a chance to test whether institutional and market improvement elements, for example, the lawful environment and speculator insurance influence audit quality. Leeway of directing between provincial studies inside one nation is that we can catch the impact of foundations on audit quality free from pollution because of nation contrasts in bookkeeping and inspecting models, 14 assessment, and liquidation laws. As former writing (e.g., Francis et al., 2003; Khurana and Raman, 2004;Francis and Wang, 2008) recommends, auditorsà may be more touchy to the expense of customer distorting and are more inclined to keep up audit quality as institutional administrations get to be stronger. In districts with well (less) created markets, the examiners may be all the more (less) prone to be worried about the potential impact of trading off audit quality on their legitimate risk and market notoriety. In this manner, there is less incremental interest for compulsory auditor rotation in well created areas. Conversely, mandatory audit rotation may be more vital in less created areas, which need business motivators or oversights to keep auditors determined and free. Consequently, we audit whether the impact of required or willful auditors rotation on audit quality is more claimed in less created areas than in decently created locales. This prompts our second research question. The relationship between customer particular information and audit quality. The inverse and clashing forecasts and discoveries in earlier studies on to the connection between audit tenure and audit quality may be attributable to the disappointment to together inspect directing elements, for example, auditorââ¬â¢s specialization, charges reliance, and auditorââ¬â¢s motivators (Doyle and Ge, 2007; Daugherty et al.,2012).therefore, the accompanying areas concentrate on recognizing the critical variables that may direct the relationship between audit rotation and audit quality. The relationship between mandatory auditor rotation and client-specific knowedge. Contentions for broadened auditorââ¬âclient relations rest essentially on a mastery contention. Past exploration has reliably shown that auditor experience has a positive impact on audit quality (Dougherty et al., 2012). Case in point, Brazel et al. (2010) find that customer particular learning, an intermediary for auditor experience, builds auditorsââ¬â¢ capacity to discover misrepresentation markers. On a related note, a few studies (e.g., Lenox, 1999) contend that non-audit activities performed by the audit firms has a tendency to prompt expanding the auditorââ¬â¢s experience and learning of the customerââ¬â¢s operations and environment, and thus expand the capacity to discover error in the budgetary explanations. Therefore, providing non-audit ativities to the customer can have a positive instead of a negative effect on audit quality.therefore,à required audit firm or audit partner rotations, specifically when there are no compelling information exchange techniques, may prompt the loss of both express and inferred client-specific knowledge, and thus to decreased audit quality. Audit quality be contrarily influenced when a lead partner who has picked up this particular information of the customer is supplanted. Auditor ndependence is the foundation of the auditing profession. Auditor independence alludes to the likelihood that auditors will report the error in money related explanations (Colbert and Murray, 1998) and the capacity of auditors to oppose weight from a client (Goldman and Barlev, 1974). Along these lines, auditors who have a high level of independence will have a high likelihood of distinguishing and reporting lapses or budgetary misquotes, and henceforth will have the capacity to focus the genuine status of the reviewed firm, i.e. make an excellent review (Deangelo, 1981; Colbert and Murray, 1998). One of the discussed components that influence auditor independence is auditor tenure. It is contended that more drawn out relationship between audit partner and their clients can make individual connections that make it more troublesome for the auditor to act independently of the inclination of the client (Deangelo, 1981). This is further disturbed by the dread of auditors of losing a relentless stream of future audit incomes, specifically from vital client who pay the auditor huge audit expenses. Likewise, this may lead auditors to agree to the clientââ¬â¢s requests (Lim and Tan, 2010). Therefore, compulsory accomplice turn mitigates the closeness of the relationship between audit partner and their client, and improves the auditorââ¬â¢s capacity to oppose weight from administration. The consequences of this stream of exploration (e.g., Hattifield et al., 2011) propose that there is a positive relationship between audit firm/or audit partner rotation and the extent of proposed audit adjustment. Simnett and Carey (2006) likewise discover a negative relationship between auditor independence and the probability of issuing a going concern assessment as an intermediary of audit quality.hence it might be contended that auditor turn can improve auditor independence and hence expand the likelihood of distinguishing and reporting budgetary misquote

Mentoring Leadership Essay
Leadership has always been an important principle that shapes and motivates people to become better. It serves as a catalyst providing opportunities for members to recognize their strengths and grow from their experiences. Seeing this, to better understand Jesusââ¬â¢ style of mentoring leadership, it is then crucial to identify common elements shaping this approach and relate it with specific strengths and weaknesses. By actively determining these areas, it can create appreciation of how Jesus was able to hone his disciples to continue and expand his principles and teachings. Analyzing Jesusââ¬â¢ ministry, it can be argued that he seeks to promote a mentoring leadership style. This specific method corresponds to the ability of a leader to provide necessary means to train members to continue specific objectives. The main purpose of this style it to establish continuity and promote transcendence from an individual leader to several followers and expand the ideas or skills taught (Towns, 2007). Seeing this, Jesusââ¬â¢ participation and interaction with the disciples remains to be rooted in giving each one the capacity to pursue his teachings and become the fundamental groundwork for Christianity. Assessing the key strengths of this leadership approach, it can be argued that this process provides opportunities for the leader to become a teacher, communicate, and inspire members to follow. Under the first precept, a mentoring leadership style promotes the individual to become a teacher (Towns, 2007). Here, Jesus readily gives himself to be of service to his disciples by means of educating them about the scriptures and the values necessary to become a true Christian. Such dynamics then increase the ability of members to appreciate and relate with the purpose of Jesus both as a leader and a teacher. The second facet involves enhancing communication process. Here, Jesusââ¬â¢ ministry revolves around taking care of his disciples and becoming patient to their needs. Though the way Jesus communicates to his disciples may at oftentimes be metaphorical, he makes it a point to establish good connections with each one. This then trains the disciples to become committed towards reinforcing communication and dialogue as it remains to be a crucial precept to help promote the process of evangelization and conversion (Towns, 2007). The last part involves inspiring members to become better. Given the dynamics of Jesusââ¬â¢ ministry, he was able to put his words into actions and gain the respect of his disciples. Due to this, he was able to further his teachings and also allow members to recognize their individual inputs in the application of their specific leadership style (Towns, 2007). Due to this, Jesus was able to shape the value of his followers according to what he believes is essential. On the other hand, the weaknesses of this leadership style include (1) failure, (2) expectation of immediate results, and (3) live a life of isolation (Towns, 2007). In the first aspect, failure corresponds to the inability of a leader to create and develop the mentoring process. The most applicable example of this to Jesusââ¬â¢ life was the betrayal of Judas Iscariot and his limited ability to imbibe the teachings of Jesus. The second one looks into how some disciples expect immediate results from what the mentoring leader says. Applying this to the case of Jesus, the Bible has elaborated various scenes in the Gospel where the disciples question various principles and tenets of Jesusââ¬â¢ teaching. This then impedes the ability of disciples to fully take advantage of progressing and incorporating the ideas and values taught by Jesus to each one (Towns, 2007). Lastly, Jesusââ¬â¢ mentoring leadership style also promotes a life of isolation. Since Jesus is too focused to achieve his purpose and role in life, he found limited time to spend for himself and open up to his disciples about his personality and life (Towns, 2007). Though this cannot be entirely seen throughout Jesusââ¬â¢ ministry, this also served to provide confusion and misunderstanding among his disciples on specific occasions. In the end, Jesusââ¬â¢ mentoring leadership style illustrates both strengths and weaknesses in application. The strengths mentioned highlight how this approach can provide the opportunities for members to grow and continue the principles taught by the leader. However, the limitations of this approach also impede the ability to further encourage transcendence and growth. Regardless of these inputs, Jesus was successful in molding followers according to his purpose and beliefs due to his unconditional care given to his disciples together with the time and patience given.

A visual interpretation of the text of ââ¬Ësir gawain and the green knightââ¬â¢
I wrote the above illustration of text from Sir Gawain and the Green night in the way it is shown here to illustrate that in the first to the fourth lines there is a certain level of revelry and the fete in the text. The first to the fourth lines talk about partying and having fun hence my visual representation of the feeling that these lines conveyed.à Immediately on the fifth and sixth line, I notice a change in tone from the party atmosphere to the more toned down chivalrous tone.Despite the mention of humor and merrymaking in the firth and sixth lines, the presence of ââ¬ËGawainââ¬â¢ and the ââ¬Ëknightââ¬â¢ in these two lines give them a sense of conservativeness and tradition, so I used a more formal, less ââ¬Ënoisyââ¬â¢ illustration of the text.à Finally, in the seventh and eighth lines the tone tapers off with the mention of ââ¬Ëseparationââ¬â¢ and the reference to sleeping.à So, from the party atmosphere that I illustrated in the initial lines, the tone of the text moves on to become more muted, and finally to taper off to nothing as everybody takes their leave. In this exercise I realized that there are certain emotions conveyed by the text in ââ¬ËSir Gawain and the Green Knightââ¬â¢.à I believe that this is a quality of many pieces of poetry called imagery ââ¬â this means that a visual image is conveyed by the text with the use of words. These images come from certain clues in the text that represent an emotion by encapsulating this emotion in a concrete image.à For instance, when a poet wants to convey joy, the poet would use words that would indicate that there is a party, as is the case in the first six lines.à From this exercise I learned to appreciate the value of the specificity of words in poetry ââ¬â for a poet to convey an accurate emotion, the words used have to be very specific. This means that if the poet would like to convey ââ¬Ëangerââ¬â¢ he/she cannot simply write ââ¬Ëangerâ⠬⢠but categorize the intensity of that anger as well and find the word that best fits the degree of anger that needs to be expressed. In particular, this exercise also makes me realize that literature is not unintentional; all that a writer puts into his work is considered very carefully if not planned to the finest detail.à This is so because one thing that a writer should achieve in his work is to rig it in a way that the audience is led to feel the exact emotion that needs to be conveyed in the words. The same function of words could be used for many other purposes in literature such as revealing something or indicating a change in tone or atmosphere as is illustrated in the above example. However way words are used in literature, the writer should be conscious of what he/she is doing at all times otherwise; the images that a poem or a piece of literature conveys would be faulty or inaccurate.à I believe this particular quality of literature is called organic unity. The flo w of any piece of literature is largely dependent on the proper arrangement and use of the words.à This means that for a writer to succeed in a particular piece of literature he/she has to be able to wield the ability or power of words to cause mental images to form in the readerââ¬â¢s mind.

Case discussion Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Discussion - Case Study Example y politically motivated (lobbying intense) actions that Chiquita took to counteract the EU common policy and analyze why they were not met with greater success in terms of breaking down the imposed trade barriers in the European market. One way to counteract the EU policy was to seek measures that involved lobbying trade unions that represent the interests of its citizens who are affected by foreign trading policies. This measure is not only political but legal as well but the process takes long due to verification of the policies and the bureaucracies. The solution achieved by this lobbying is either middle or long term as the trade unions seek to prevent other companies in future from these policies (Spar 13). The other channel that may be open and provide solution to the foreign policy issue is seeking powerful politicians to lobby against imposition of such policies by foreign bodies which ââ¬Å"hurtâ⬠the companies in their country. This can be done through coming up with bills and lobbying during the political meetings and sittings and seek not only a temporary but permanent solution as well. The problem with this just like with the other solution is the time it will take before implementation is done hence not providing a short term

Death penalty Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words - 1
Death penalty - Research Paper Example The criminal justice system is implemented under imperfect conditions. Risks of convicting innocent individuals within the system have been seen all too often. These risks are some of the primary considerations in the opposition of the death penalty ââ¬â that innocent individuals may be put to death because of this imperfect system. For which reason, this paper now seeks to discuss the abolition of the death penalty. It presents arguments and supporting theories and discussions on the abolition of the death penalty within the criminal justice system. Discussion I believe that death penalty should be abolished because it is an inhumane punishment. ââ¬Å"Death destroys an individualââ¬â¢s status and his or her very existence in organized societyâ⬠(Chenwi, p. 97). In effect, the death penalty is a form of punishment which practically strips a person of his rights and his rightful place in an orderly and peaceful society. The severity of the death penalty as a punishment de grades human beings and strips them of honor. It summarizes and defines their life into one act of violence and deems such life to be unworthy of continuance. And such summary judgment is something which should not be supported The imposition of the death penalty must be prevented because of the criminal justice system is basically imperfect. No matter what evidence is often unearthed from any criminal investigation, to some degree, such evidence cannot often completely prove a personââ¬â¢s commission of a crime. The possibility of convicting a person of a crime he did not commit has been proven true time and again (Cole and Smith, p. 405). The possibility therefore of sending someone to his death for a crime he did not commit is also a strong likelihood. This is a risk we cannot prevent and manage with the death penalty because, unlike imprisonment sentence which can be carried out in jail, carrying out the death sentence is irreversible. On the off chance that a person is indee d later proven innocent, imprisonment affords a person freedom. But death? Death is a one-way ticket. Lang also set forth these same arguments. He argues that there is a distinct possibility that a person who is wrongly convicted of a crime would be sentenced to death. This is a strong possibility which is too grim for me to consider. It would be wrong for us to close our eyes to this grim possibility. Lang discusses the injustices suffered by Michael Blair as a basis for his opposition to the death penalty. He discusses how evidence eventually presented in court successfully proved that Blair was innocent of the crime being charged against him. However, this was after fourteen years spent in death row. This was after fourteen years of emotional trauma ââ¬â waiting for the possibility of having his head next to the proverbial chopping block. Blair also lost fourteen years of his life ââ¬â a life which could have been productive in terms of career, family, and social life. Un til and unless we can absolutely avoid more ââ¬ËMichael Blairââ¬â¢ incidents can we safely consider the possibility of imposing the death penalty as a means of deterring crime and rendering punishment to criminals. It would be difficult to gauge and decide that things would have been better off for people like Michael Blair, but in considering the cases on mentally retarded individuals, being

Managerial Accounting Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words
Managerial Accounting - Essay Example Anything in which a firm excels than its competitors is considered as its competitive advantage. Michael Porter has mentioned three main strategies in order to gain the market share by acquiring competitive advantage. They include: Cost Leadership Differentiation Focus Differentiation Cost Leadership Parts Limited is that company which doesnââ¬â¢t earn through number of units sold, but it maximizes its profits through the price of units. Parts Limited charges higher prices to its customer which means that they sell their products on relatively premium prices. When it comes to cost differentiation, this strategy is an option for Parts Limited. There is a possibility that the company start focusing on generating revenue not through premium prices but through number of units sold. ... In my opinion, this strategy is currently availed by Parts Limited because it is selling its unique products and charging premium prices for them. These products are perceived as unique and important in the eyes of the customers and the firm utilizing this strategy, usually is aware of the needs and unique demands of its customers. Focus Differentiation This strategy usually consists of two variants. In focus strategy a firm can either go for: a) Focus differentiation in its own target market b) Cost focus to seek cost advantage within its target market In this regard, usually targeted customers have unusual needs or the delivery of production system. Cost focus assist in acquiring cost advantage of a particular segment whereas focus differentiation fulfills the special and unique needs of the customers. As far as Parts Limited is concerned, this type of strategy cannot be applicable for a company dealing in machines industry. The reason is hardly customers are concerned about using unique and high priced parts for their machines. In fact, the emphasis is basically on sustainable and good quality products. This type of strategy mostly applies in the apparel & garment industry, cellular industry, electronics industry (including personal computers, T.Vs etc.), cosmetic industry etc. Implications of Porterââ¬â¢s Generic Strategy In the above section, a brief analysis has been done of each of the three porterââ¬â¢s strategy. Coming to back to Parts Limited and before analyzing which strategy can prove to be productive for Parts Limited; all the three strategies need to be analyzed in respect of Parts Limited. a) Product Differentiation Parts Limited has been utilizing product differentiation strategy. Individual project 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Individual project 2 - Essay Example The elevated productivity was due to the raise in capital, machines, innovation in technology, more experienced and educated labor, enhanced support from the government and favorable political policies. Therefore, Japanââ¬â¢s miraculous economy was in the past as compared to the modern times as it is facing obstacles of low growth and development rate. Although the economic growth also enhanced the standard of living of the Japanese as compared to the Americans (Flath, 2005). The important factor was that the income in Japan is evenly and fairly distributed in relation to United States. Similar to United States economy Japan has also turned out to be a manufacturing nation. Japan has been successful in getting cheap labor from the neighboring Southeast Asian countries. This alteration from a comparatively more service economy has also exhibited the alteration of preferences and tastes of the consumers. Japan is considered to be the eight most densely populated country around the g lobe. The main problem with Japan is that the land of Japan is not large enough to cater the demand of agriculture. Japan despite all its success is not able to produce food for its own population. Japan is devoid of many raw materials necessary for the industry, for example coal, oil, iron ore, aluminum, copper and wood. Japan is relying on other countries for most of its imports. For these natural resources and energy Japan has to import all the following resources. The problem occurs to pay for the imports of Japan, what they do is that in order to pay for the imports Japan has to export some products to other countries. Chief exports comprising Japan is cars and electronic equipment. Trade or exports with neighboring and other countries is very essential for Japan. The variety of the goods of exports has altered over the time, moving from agriculture products to manufactured goods, steel, cars and textiles. As discussed above Japan has become unpopular in the field of agricultur e due to lack of farmland. In current time manufacturing has become highly expensive as the wages have also increased. Another drawback for Japan is that it less competitive in energy for instance, aluminum and petrol and other chemicals, as the domestic energy resources are very few (Gao, 2001). Due to reasons Japan has to import oil from Middle East, as the prices of the oil were increased conversely Japan had to pay more for the oil. Japan has to export its products somewhere else not in the Middle East as they are not in need of those resources. This has increased the interdependency of Japan as they have trade relations with each other to make products available in their own countries. Japan even has to purchase raw materials such as coal and technology based items from Australia. With Australia, Japan has a trade deficit as they are not able to pay as they do not produce finished products. United States and Japan are very essential trading associates. Therefore, there exists a disproportion in their trade. Currently Japan is making use of its trade surpluses with the United States in order to pay for its trade deficit with the OPEC countries. China has many natural resources such as petroleum, iron ore, mercury, tungsten, antimony, molybdenum, vanadium, magnetite, zinc, uranium and hydro power. It also produces coffee beans and rice. The problem is that the quality of the natural resources is not very superior as compare to the other countries, for this matter many of
